Questions about African future… and international ambitions
Several questions were raised by the media about the extent of the success of the Russian Wagner mercenary group with a new leadership after the death of its leader, and the Russian President’s announcement of naming a new leadership concerned with training, headed by a former official in the group known for practicing illegal activities, and whose activities are expanding outside Russian territory.
The questions included the major changes that the West African countries were witness to, and how the climate became conducive for the group to engage in new activities targeting these countries in light of the growing Russian ambitions in Africa.
Reports spoke of the possibility of all African countries entering into states of chaos and instability, following the end of the French presence in these countries.
The media indicate that a number of experts and academics are increasingly concerned about the expansion of international terrorism on the African continent.
Professor of political science – who refused to mention his name – confirmed that Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger would be the countries most likely to be unstable. The professor of political science linked the economic weakness of these countries to the desire of the new rulers to cooperate with the Eastern stream led by Russia, indicating that this opens the door wide for the entry of terrorist elements. To the continent, he pointed to the great vacuum that these countries are witnessing in the protection system after the termination of the services of the French military presence, and he expected the fall of these countries in the furnace of the ambitions of the Eastern stream, especially Russia, which is striving to achieve achievements on the African level.
